I haven't tried them yet except to confirm they are very sharp, but with rounded tips, that's a good thing. They were smaller than I expected. The two handles are just big enough for one finger each. I think that's a good thing, too, because this way it seems they'll be more maneuverable and controllable when working in close to the cat's paws. Also, I expect the curved blades will nicely hold the claw that's being clipped in place while it's being clipped. My (much bigger) tree branch loppers have these curves blades, and they grab the branch as it's being cut, a helpful design feature. I can check back after I've tried these cat nail clippers on my cat for the first time, but I expect they will work well. Construction is excellent quality. Ordering and delivery went smoothly.

Update: The seller quickly resolved the issue. The item arrived damaged, with the small black locking mechanism broken and unable to stay in place. It’s a tiny plastic piece that could easily be lost, and without it, I can't unlock the clippers. I’m really disappointed because the product seemed to be of good quality overall, except for this small part. It feels sturdy and well-made, but that black plastic locking piece is essential. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a way to contact the seller, so I’ll be returning it.

These clippers are excellent for helping my dog walk better. They feature a protective guard to prevent injury, have comfortable handles, and make a great gift. It’s worth the investment because it saves on vet bills, has a light to see under the fur, and is sharp enough that my dog didn’t bleed or cry out. However, they may not work well on dogs with dark nails. Plus, I don’t think they’ll rust quickly.
